Studio Fontana

Multiplayer mode (2018)

What

A game played in a three team format, inspired by the triolectic soccer field, developed by situationist artist Asger Jorn.

Why

To challenge the rigid binary structures that result in ‘winning’ or ‘losing’. The game encourages an opening up to more than two competing teams, and seeks moments of vulnerability and transgression.

How

Unlike conventional football, where the winner is the highest scoring team, in this three team version, the winning team is the team who has the fewest goals scored in their goal. Even if the element of competition is still present, thetriolectic format gives more space for collaboration, in the sense that two teams can team up on the field against the other, creating a situation where your enemy and allies are constantly changing.
